In Electroless nickel plating objects are plated chemically without using current and can be plated on any material like ABS plastic, fibre, plaster, etc. It is effective for an even deposition despite the shape of the piece and can deposit on surfaces which are non conductive. It is ideal for preventing corrosion and wear and for anything that requires an elevated hardness. Electroless nickel plating is done specifically for giving a thicker nickel deposition (in microns) in a very short time period, a feat not possible using any other nickel plating techniques but it comes at comparatively a higher plating cost.
